The Great Journey presents Talent Connect - a Student Recruitment Day for jobs and internships, November 19th, 2025.

Talent Connect is a matchmaking event in Karlstad where companies or organizations within games, tech, IT, animation and other industries can come to meet and find interns or new colleagues from a pool of super-talented students.

The event event is hosted by The Great Journey together with our educational partners Futuregames, Karlstads Universitet, Kristinehamns Folkhögskola and Molkoms Folkhögskola.

All you need to know

The event will be held at Tullhusgatan 1A in Karlstad, by the inner harbor of Klarälven, neatly distanced to both the central station and the town square. When arriving to the location, follow the east side of the building until your reach Olssons Bazar and the main entrance. The events venue can be found on the first floor in the venue "Skeppet".

A lighter lunch will be served at 12:00 for all attending companies.


Storage

An unmanned cloakroom is available, but The Great Journey or participating educations are not responsible for any valuables. Do not leave items that could be stolen to lie in the open.

About Futuregames

About Karlstad University

Karlstad University (Kau) is a Swedish state university, with just over 1,300 employees and approximately 19,000 students. Karlstad University has around 75 degree programs and 750 courses in 50 subject areas within the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, technology, teaching, healthcare and music.

Practitioners as well as vocational students may also like to join individual academic courses: Narrative in video games – A historical overview with its evening classes and using material in Embracer Games Archive; Pedagogical methods for teaching about risk and environmental issues which where game design is the prime methods treated; Spelplan för lärande where game designers and practicing teachers meet; Applied game development a summer course jointly with The Great Journey; Game producer perspectives on game development – a full semester intro to a 1-year master exam for the role ‘game producer; Monetisation of digital games is a new distance course from January 2026 (master level).

If you are an employer / studio: please consider submitting well-defined projects for our applied project courses, for thesis works (exam works), and for practical placement. We also invite YH/FH students to help with graphics, animation and interaction in such works and in research works where game / 3D interaction prototypes are involved.

About Kristinehamns Folkhögskola

Kristinehamn folkhögskola has a wide range of courses in several different areas. Game culture is the profile of Kristinehamn folkhögskola. They offer both general as well as vocational education. Their goal is that course participants grow and develop, become more interested in social issues, increase their knowledge/skills and create culture in various forms.
